If you installed the complete Windows 10 software and driver packages for your printer provided by the OEM of the printer, then you probably have the ink level monitor and ability to lock the cartridge in the middle of the printer for an easy exchange.
But if you are using a generic printer driver from Microsoft for windows 10, then all those features you usually have will not be there. So you will have to play it by ear or really sight, as in if the ink looks depleted on paper, then open printer and carefully slide the cartridge holder to the middle and change it for a new one.
There is 2 options. Install the Windows 10 software & Drivers, If they have them for your printer/scanner or install the software/drivers using compatibility mode using the Windows operating system they are for.
