PayDay 2 Overkill Studios revealed a few pieces of information about its next decision on the series The Walking Dead. During a Reddit AMA, producer Almir Listo addressed some questions about the project, which will be the third adaptation The Walking Dead video game in as many years, joining serialized adventure drama Telltale and FPS stinker Activision.
On the subject of what it will be, Listo confirmed what many of us suspected: it is built on the foundations established by PayDay series.
“This is our elevator pitch for you,” Listo wrote, “Overkill is The Walking Dead is a first shooter co-op person with elements of action, role-playing, stealth and survival horror, which invites players to explore the popular the Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors to fend for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers.
“In 2016, Washington will fall – what will you do? ”
Regarding the setting of The Walking Dead, Listo confirms that the game will be set in the same universe as the comic, but will feature all new characters. “We work with Robert [Kirkman] himself. Seeing as he wrote the comic, it is natural that we will focus on that. Personally, I love the emphasis on horror in comics. We will focus on new characters and new scenarios, same universe. ”
Listo also addressed the subject of the storm, a science fiction first-person shooter co-op previously described as “PayDay in space.” Is it still going on? Development of The Walking Dead will affect his progress?
“Storm is always on our roadmap,” he said. “More information will come when it is available. ”
